Facts about Italy ... you might not know
Facts about Italy ( the more you know)
So since I have been in Italy I have noticed several things that are different from being in America. I am not saying one is better than the other but they are just different.
In Florence most if not all of the apartments don’t have air conditions. So we keep all of our doors and windows open all the time. Sometimes it can be very hot. Also fun fact you can’t turn your heat on until some official date in November and then you can only have it on for 8 hours a day otherwise you get a fine. So that will be interesting…
Did you know that it is illegal to have a guest in your house past 11 pm?! I guess no slumber party for little kids!
Buying food is a whole different experience entirely. (Especially when you are still struggling to be able to read Italian.) You have to put gloves on before you pick up fruit or veggies (umm which why don’t we do that America!) then you have to go weigh then on a scale and then print out a sticker to bring to the counter. You have to pay for bags, and bag them yourself.
Nexflixs does not work in Italy.
The rest of the world uses a different measuring system then us sooo trying to order meat in Italy without using pounds and speaking Italian was a little bit embarrassing. Some nice old Italian man helped.
Most all the Italians I have met have been so nice and are very open to talking to you! If you are nice to them and try to speak some Italian then they are extremely helpful!
